Name: Kent Cowgill. Location: Chicago, IL USA.
I'm a software engineer and sometimes system administrator currently working for an internet information and advertising company in Chicago.
I've got a beautiful wife Lisa, a wonderful 13 month old son named Matthew, a nice little house in Chicago, a little black poodle/terrier mix named Spike, and two cats named Shadow and Butterscotch (photos of all the above are available in abundance in my photoblog).
I've done software development for over 14 years - a lot of them using Perl. I took a break for a while from development and turned my attention towards being a system administrator. Blame the dot-com boom - and I was in the right place at the right time. I never quite got development out of my blood - if I wasn't writing complex server monitoring and reporting systems, I would instead focus on learning some of the inner workings of Perl.
This site pulls together some of my interests - development, photography, and most recently fitness, and acts as a playground for new technologies. Stay tuned :)
The Living Lincoln was walking around the CMU building we were hanging out in after talks. Contact him at rickmyoga - yahoo dot com if you're in the Pittsburgh area.

I just had a light springy bounce on the balls of my feet - which felt like a dream and brought back memories from childhood of running through the yard without a care in the world.
It was a little chilly and rainy out tonight, so before I got moving (and every time I had to stop for the dog's benefit) my soles got a little cold.
I'm also going to have ...
