Matthew's eating - and feeding himself!

    Kent Cowgill

Matthew has started "helping" when getting fed "solid" food. This is of course a very loose (pun intended) interpretation of the word "solid", since it's very mushy and/or soupy.

But he's totally grabbing the spoons and shoving them in his mouth, and not shoving too much of the rice cereal back out of his mouth.

He's got a great camera-facing smile at around 2:43 into the video. I was standing behind the camera making faces at him :)

    Matthew laughing at Spike

    Kent Cowgill

Lisa was sitting with Matthew when Spike brought Lisa his ball because he wanted to play. So Lisa did some multitasking. Before we knew it, Matthew was laughing while watching Spike run back and forth, so we grabbed the camera as quickly as we could.

    Matthew saying 'Mama'

    Kent Cowgill

Matthew was being really vocal while playing with some toys, so we made sure we grabbed the camera as quick as we could. Nearly immediately after we started rolling, we caught this gem of him saying (or very nearly saying) "Mama".

More pictures and videos of Matthew

    Kent Cowgill

So I've also finally gotten around to collecting all my pictures and videos and posting them to my various websites (including flickr of course). The funnest and funniest of which I'll post here as well.

Full size video is here. Be sure to check out the rest of my recently posted video on my youtube channel.

He was just having a great time on the Baby Einstein Activity gym, and so were Lisa and I :)

    Matthew hanging out, sitting around

    Kent Cowgill

So we had Matthew in his Bumbo seat after we started noticing that the little guy was getting better at sitting up and holding his head somewhat steady. It was great weather out on the Fourth of July, so we brought him out with us. He was doing all sorts of talking, so I got my camera :)

    Matthew is Cooing and Squealing

    Kent Cowgill

Lisa and I have been hard at work raising our son, Matthew. It's about all we can do to keep some sense of sanity while continuing to be productive at our respective employers while doing our best to make sure we do everything we're supposed to do to foster the positive development of our budding progeny.

So forgive us if we're tickled pink when we can get some positive feedback of our own, in the form of the cutest little coos and squeals from our son.

    On cue, even.

As if he's actually enjoying his time with us.

    Amazing.

    Spike likes catnip too!

    Kent Cowgill

My mom sent us a nice christmas gift, including a dog toy for Spike, and two catnip scented toys for Shadow and Butterscotch. Turns out that shipping catnip toys in a box with another plush toy will pretty much make it smell like catnip, too.

We were wondering why the cats were so interested in the dog toy, but then we noticed that Spike was a little more interested in the toy than normal. Turns out Spike enjoys the scent of catnip too.

We had to capture some of the fun on video.

There's another one where we discover that it's the catnip, as well as the rest of my videos, in my youtube channel.

    Spike doing tricks for turkey!

    Kent Cowgill

After Lisa and I got back from Thanksgiving dinner, we decided to take a few pictures of how well Spike was balancing in order to earn some tasty morsels of smoked turkey.
